Using it as a rim light for the first time yesterday, the extra depth made a real difference in cutting flare off the backdrop. Took maybe ten minutes to snap all the interlocking pieces together, and they held firm even when I tilted the softbox down.

I was skeptical about the interlocking design holding up, but every piece snapped together cleanly and feels solid once it's on. The extra depth really does kill the flare when I use it as a rim light, and it takes maybe two minutes to swap out.

Finally got this grid to tame my hair light, and the interlocking plastic pieces snap together solidly—no sagging after hours of shooting. It kills flare exactly where I need it, and the contrast on my subject’s edges is noticeably richer. Feels well worth the price for the control it adds.
